Cathy works as a legal secretary within our private client team. She has worked for over 20 years in local firms and has a wealth of experience in this area. The clients appreciate Cathy’s calm and reassuring approach and together with the rest of the private client team, she enjoys ensuring that our clients receive all the support and help they need through at what can be a difficult time.
Outside of work, Cathy enjoys walking, gardening and spending time with her three grandchildren.
Alison Courtenay
Job Title: Senior Private Client Executive
Alison is a qualified Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Legal Executives and has worked in the Private Client area of law since 2006.
Alison specialises in all aspects of Private Client work including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Estate Planning, Probate and Administration of Estates as well as Court of Protection and elderly client matters.
Alison prides herself on her relatability and empathy, often dealing with highly distressing and sensitive matters, whilst always taking a practical and professional approach to ensure the best outcome and quality service for her clients. She believes that her nurturing approach helps clients feel at ease and confident in her ability to help them.
In her private life, Alison loves spending time with her family including her three grandchildren.

Jade Evans-Bray
Job Title: Trainee Solicitor
Jade joined Watson Thomas as a Trainee Solicitor in 2021 after achieving a first in her Law degree from the University of Sussex and graduating with a Distinction in the LPC alongside a Master’s in Law.
Jade is currently completing her first seat in the Family law department which she is thoroughly enjoying and welcomes new challenges.
Outside of work, Jade enjoys spending time with her friends and family and visiting new places.
Helen Canter-Scott
Job Title: Paralegal
Helen has worked drafting Wills for the past 5 years and joined Watson Thomas in 2021 to assist in the smooth running of our Private Client department.
Outside of work Helen spends most of her time with her family and her dogs, she enjoys a variety of hobbies and tries to incorporate these daily. Helen has a passion for nature and likes nothing more than relaxing at the beach or walking locally with her dogs.
Paula Lucena-Casas
Job Title: Trainee Solicitor
Paula joined Watson Thomas as a paralegal in December 2021 after achieving a Distinction in her master’s degree and having completed the Legal Practice Course.
Paula enjoys working as a paralegal in the family and private client departments. She is passionate about helping individuals in an approachable manner and hopes to qualify as a solicitor in the future.
Outside of work, Paula enjoys keeping active, traveling, and socialising with friends and family.
