mediation can be a benefifical alternative dispute resolution route
If you and your partner have agreed to attend mediation to resolve your family problem, then Watson Thomas offer a helping hand to support and advise you through that process.
Mediation can be a beneficial alternative dispute resolution route if you and your spouse/partner still have a reasonable line of communication and are dedicated to reaching an agreement as amicably and cost effectively as possible. Mediation is there to help you to reach decisions about issues that are important for you and your family. It can help you to find a way to plan for the future and to agree what will work best for you without having to go to Court. Mediation can save you time, money and stress.
It is however important to have the benefit of legal advice during and/or after mediation, especially if you are discussing property and financial issues. A Mediator cannot provide you with individual legal advice so using a solicitor alongside mediation can be much more cost effective.
At Watson Thomas, we offer a fixed fee package for those of you who wish to explore an alternative dispute resolution whilst receiving clear and pragmatic legal advice along the way.
If you and your spouse/partner have agreed to attempt Mediation and you are not using Watson Thomas for the Mediation itself, then let one of our expert Lawyers assist you and guide you through the process.
We are pleased to offer this service to you for an affordable fixed fee.
our ‘support & advice during mediation’ fixed fee includes:-
- An unlimited initial appointment. During that consultation, we will listen to your situation and gain an understanding of what it is you need from us. We will advise you at that meeting as to your legal position, outlining the options open to you and explaining what you should be looking to achieve at Mediation.
- Two further 1 hour consultations to discuss and advise you on the issues/proposals you have been discussing at Mediation and allow you the opportunity to make an informed decision on the next steps to take. These meetings can take place at any point during the Mediation Process. At these consultations, we will provide you with the individual legal advice you require and deserve to ensure you can attempt to get the best result out of Mediation as possible.
- Should Mediation be successful and you reach a financial/ child arrangement agreement with your spouse/partner, we will assist you in incorporating the provisions of that agreement into a legally binding Consent Order which will be filed at Court.
All of the above is offered to you for the low cost fixed fee of £2,500 plus VAT.
We do however appreciate that Mediation is not always successful. Mediation is of course a voluntary process and can be stopped at any time by you or your spouse/partner and should Mediation breakdown, or you only achieve a partial agreement, we will of course continue to assist you in reaching an agreement and discuss with you the options available to you and the subsequent costs involved.
